What is a Green
Dweller?
We are soccer moms who still
drive SUVs to accommodate our
large families,
but we will use nontoxic cleaning
and laundry products for the
health of our
children and the environment.
We are individuals who might
still enjoy the convenience of
bottled water but who are avid
recyclers and bring our own
reusable Green bags when grocery
shopping.
We are people who like to keep
our homes at a comfortable
temperature but who have
replaced incandescent light bulbs
with energy saving compact
fluorescents.
We are homeowners who won’t
give up our power lawn mower for a
push mower but who choose to use
nontoxic and/or biodegradable
pesticides.
We are individuals who still
enjoy an occasional long hot
shower but who use organic cotton
towels and burn soy or beeswax
candles that don't pollute our
air with carcinogens.
WE ARE REAL PEOPLE LIVING
LIGHT GREEN AND MAKING A
DIFFERENCE
Mission Statement
Green Dwellers’ mission is to
educate, encourage and enable
South Florida residents to
incorporate healthier and more
environmentally sustainable home
goods into their lifestyle to
promote the health of their
families, their
community and their world
Company Goals and
Objectives
The primary goal of Green Dwellers
is to educate the consumer.
Second, be
the one source for all Green Home
goods. To improve the quality of
life for
our customers by providing
alternatives to existing toxic and
environmentally harmful home
products. Our objective is to
create awareness not only in the
product category but also in the
social cause. We know that people
given the opportunity are eager to
do their part in helping the
environment; therefore, Green
Dwellers responds to that
enthusiasm by providing the
knowledge and products to satisfy
that need.
About the Owner
Owner
and entrepreneur Mylene
D’Arelli, whose husband is the
first attorney in Florida
accredited
by the US Green Building Council
as a LEED accredited professional
and who works with developers to
incorporate green design
principles into their buildings,
came up with the concept after
many dinner table conversations
with her husband about the
benefits of sustainable building.
With a background in interior
decorating and fashion
merchandising, Mylene thought
there was an opportunity to help
people incorporate “green
living” principles to the inside
of their homes where people spend
a significant amount of time
exposed to toxins, allergens, and
the like. At the same time, she
felt that if alternative products
were to be accepted by mainstream
consumers like herself, they
needed to be so stylish and
interesting that you would want to
own them even if they
weren’t Green. Thus the idea for
Green Dwellers was born
